Boycott the Vancouver Olympics!!

It seems to me that the Vancouver Olympics is going to be one of the most un-welcomed events. I certainly hope so. I think it is disgusting to see that Vancouver Olympic committee chose the inukshuk for their Olympic symbol. I least I am sure it is and I believe this is also used as Nunavut’s flag. Exploitation of Canada’s minorities just like the Olympics do everywhere, Beijing was no different exploiting the minority peoples of China. Han Chinese do not have much else to show for themselves so they use the minority peoples to make themselves look better to the world. Look at the history see exactly what the Han Chinese have done to the Zhuang, the Miao, Tibetans etc they are losing their language their customs and traditional way of life. In my view, Han Chinese are no different than English Canadians, suppressing the First Nations peoples, taking the land, and they too are losing if not already lost their language and traditions and then when some big sporting event comes along they – the English Canadians – say oh well see Canada is so multicultural we have first nations people how beautiful “our” country is? I question who this “our” really is, it is not me that is for sure. I am not sure of the first nation’s opinion on the Olympics but I think I read about some opposition. The Olympics are just turning into simply a cash grab, and a few days where everyone appears in smiles and “no hard feelings” towards other countries/regions/minority peoples and then debt lingers over the city thereon after. I think we need to all re-think are the Olympics really necessary anymore? What really are they for aside from mass propaganda of business and a region? So what, do favor to the world and boycott the Vancouver Olympics!
