Japanese Grammar は,が

ぼくは田中です。
ぼくが田中です。

がorは? Which one is correct? Both are correct is the answer so the question becomes what is the difference between the two?
Simply explained はis specific while がis general. Take into account the following situation:
Somebody is asking what is your name, so you state your name. A specific question to a specific person – you.

あなたはだれですか？
ぼくは田中です。

In the next example, you are in a public area (train station, etc) and there are a lot of people and somebody is trying to find you. So a more general question would be, which person is Tanaka?

どの人が田中さんですか？
ぼくが田中です。
