I am not sure what is the point to charge for wireless internet service at international airports or in any city. It seems as though Kelowna and Vancouver have one purpose in mind charge the visitor and make sure they are not welcome. Why not make it free like Halifax, Tokyo, Narita, Taipei, and Hong Kong. To me wireless internet service should be a free public service at international airports and at designated high traffic areas of cities like shopping centers, public libraries. After all how long does the average person stay at an airport? Certainly they don’t live there. So it seems airports by giving a free service to its visitors encourage more people to come and eventually encouraging them to stay and use the paid services. Airport internet service should be more of a test of the communities services. Let the visitor be the judge as to whether or not the community makes them feel welcome.
