It’s been all over the news – two South Korean marines and two civilians killed by North Korea military drills. Now the US has sent a carrier to the Yellow Sea, which poses a dilemma for China. Since I currently live in China at the moment (over 4000km from the Yellow Sea) perhaps too far to be even concerned I thought I would spill my own opinion into this matter.
The USA has always been a country who just likes to stick their noses into other people’s business and use unnecessary military force, it’s not too difficult to find examples of this throughout this decade and century. I am very pleased with Beijing’s response to act calmly and peacefully with North Korea. Using force is immature and only escalates the tension between all countries. I believe Beijing’s response gives China a chance to be a world leader in peaceful negotiations. I say Beijing has every right to “protest angrily and aggravate ties with Washington”.
